I’ve been a longtime participant in Deepak Chopra and Oprah’s 21-day meditation courses so when I was asked if I wanted to try his Ananda meditation app, I did not hesitate to accept. I am sharing the Ananda meditation app with you because not only can you get to try out the Ananda meditation app with a free trial period but you also get free gifts and a bonus meditation just for trying!

The beautiful thing about technology is that it allows the ancient practice of meditation to be available in the palm of your hand. There are actually several meditation apps available for mobile devices but I am particularly interested to try out Ananda because it was developed with the help of Deepak Chopra whose meditations I have listened to and used for some time now.

The Ananda meditation app contains guided meditations from Deepak Chopra and other wellness leaders. It can be downloaded by iOS and Android devices and will require a Chopra account to log in (you can create an account with your Google+ credentials).

Once logged in, you will find an array of meditations grouped into genres. The image below shows just a part of the wide range of meditation choices according to genre. The genres include: Trending, Coffee Break, Romance, Flight, Rainy Day, Inspirational, Travel, Feel Good, Creativity, Kids, Afternoon Booster, Sleep, Sunset, Focus, Uplifting, and Wake Up.

Bonus Gifts

The bonus gifts for trying out the Ananda meditation app are only available for download up to December 31, 2016.

Bonus Gifts

You will receive a link in your email to be able to access the 4 bonus gifts. Actually when I did so, I was also able to download a free Dharma Meditation. Yay!

Pricing

This could be somewhat of a challenge, I think, in Asia, where the cost of living is much lower than in the West. Once the free trial period expires, it will cost US$8.99 per subscription month, chargeable directly against your credit card or PayPal balance, depending on which payment details you had provided. Remember though that meditation tracks are regularly being added to the app by the Chopra Center (and there are A LOT already inside as of now!). I think a serious practitioner of meditation will find the app’s contents quite valuable.

Opting out of the Subscription

The subscription renews every month unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before end of the current subscription period. Any time during the free trial period, and even during your subscription period, you can cancel your subscription from within your Chopra account with a single click process. You will not be charged for the succeeding month anymore. You will still be able to continue using the app for the balance of the free trial period or subscription month already paid for, as the case may be.

I’m Still in Review Mode

I just downloaded the app, listened to a couple of meditation tracks, and am liking it so far. The mix and match feature of the app makes this stand out because it creates so many more ways you can customize your meditation practice to suit your mood of the moment. I actually like the fact that the meditation can be shortened or lengthened depending on how much time you have available so if you only have 10 minutes, no pressure! Set the app to 10 minutes! I hope to use the rest of the holidays to explore the other tracks and play with the different combinations.

Consider this a New Year’s gift from the Chopra Center! Hurry and download the app on or before Dec. 31, 2016 so you can get the bonus gifts too.
